Manifesting: A Lightness Of Being Approach

Gulabo by Jason_09-08-17_003Why do you think some people seem to have everything come their way easily and naturally and others seem to work so hard and yet struggle?

Do you have dreams, desires, hopes, wishes that never come true? And yet, when you look around, it seems, so many succeed?

You have probably heard of the book “THE SECRET”. This book claims to reveal the power of attraction: it says that if you wish something very hard, and you see it, and you feel it, and own it, YOU SHALL GET IT.

Did you try it yet? What was your experience?

It seems like some people are masters in the field of speaking about the laws of attraction, since many books, workshops and exercises exist on the subject.

And yet, many many people wonder why the suggested methods do not work for them. After a while, they get frustrated and disillusioned and give up efforts to manifest their dreams.

Even though, much has been said on the subject of manifesting, allow me to add a few more thoughts.

Just maybe, there is too much effort in trying to have, to improve, to create, to change, to attract etc. Because, in doing so, it suggests that something is insufficient and wrong with what is. Perhaps then is more helpful if we can shift our perspective and the focus of our efforts from a feeling of insufficiency to beginning to recognize that unlimited treasures and potential are available within us.

Just maybe this shift in awareness is the only effort necessary to unlock these gifts. When we recognize that as beings of this universe we deserve every possibility, then everything becomes possible for us.

Remember this: It is our minds and the stories we tell that bind us. It is all these deeply believed stories that make up our doubts, fears and become the obstacles along the way. It is a great step to be able to dream freely about all that we want, to see it clearly, to feel it, but the stories we have learned as our heritage and about ourselves block possibilities.

Such thoughts such as: “I have to work hard for my money.” “Why bother.” “Our family always struggled.” etc. that we have imbibed from the earliest moments speak louder than new dreams. These stories are FAMILIAR AND SOMEHOW COMFORTABLE AND KNOWN. And that is what the universe hears.

Can we transcend these stories from the past?

Here is something else to consider. Our personal story is part of our ego (i.e. our programming, limitations, stories and separateness). If what we think we desire is only arising from ego, how can we create anything really new, because what we think we desire is not really in tune with our being, nor with the flow of the universe.

Manifestation2If we really want to manifest we must get in synch with our Self. This means relaxing, becoming silent and peaceful, so that we can feel what it is that our true heart desires. Then we can respond to what life, the universe or the force sends us. Life then blesses us with unexpected possibilities and opportunities.

It is in the state of lightness of being that an unlimited silent power is felt and there is the possibility of orchestrating a life full of all we deserve.

So, what to do???

Sit silently. Empty yourself in meditation. Feel the experience of yourself.

My experience is everything arises once we get acquainted with our inner peaceful world. There is a fountain of wealth in the meditative state. Then we send out clear messages about our real wants. The universe then responds. It may not bring you your jaguar that you imaged driving, but ever expanding possibilities to manifest who you are in all your dimensions.

The Sound of Silence

Silence beyond!

I am just completing a very interesting course since April in Mediation and Conflict resolution and it has been a great journey personally and professionally.

The women facilitating the courses are committed to creating a better world and I was very touched by their commitment creating peace step by step.

Prunus x yedoensis (Japanese Flowering Yoshino Cherry) V59, f3 - 11One of the teacher said:  “By letting yourself touched by the people and their suffering, people are touched in return.” Transformation occurs when one is touched deeply and only when we, ourselves are touched, can we make a difference towards peace.

Being touched happens on different levels and several ways. Here I wish to specifically speak about being touched by silence in a way to better understand what is happening within.

Within our work of Facilitation, Mediation, coaching and others, we will witness moments of silence and I would like to share with you new meanings of what silence may mean.

Here is what the Ken Cloke, Author of the book: Mediating Fear, Apathy, Insanity and Dishonesty says about it.

The most difficult experiences in mediation have come from people who smother rage in a seething, furious silence that is so loud it is deafening. If a person does not honestly say what is bothering them, there is little to do to help. Nonetheless, it is a mistake to equate silence with apathy. Silence in mediation is a complex state with many possible explanations. Here are some:

*Silence can mean one has turned inward, and been brought face to face with oneself.

*Silence can mean condonation or acquiescence in wrongdoing, or be a mask for blind obedience.

*Silence can be a sign of consensus, unanimity, or quiet determination

*Silence can be an indication of injured feelings , or a search for anonymity in response to fear.

*Silence can be a sign of meditation or reflection, of stepping back from escalation.

*Silence can suggest an appreciation of ambiguity and paradox, or a deep question, and a search for answers.

*Silence can mean one has returned to natural momentum and internal rhythms.

*Silence can represent a vacuum in which anything can occur.

*Silence can be what precedes the storm or what signals transformation.

*Silence can mean one lacks the skill to handle what is happening.

*Silence can be what is left when one lets go and feels complete.

*Silence can be a refusal even to help oneself.”

There are clearly many meanings of silence.

In times of conflict resolution with others, when one need to exchange, resolve, speak their truth and so on, silence can take a different meaning.

If Only…

“ If only I had another job, if only I found the right partner, if only the kids would grow up, if only I lost weight, if only we could have a child, if only we found another house, if only I wan the lottery, if only he would pick up after himself, she would stop nagging, they listened, they understood me better, we finished the garden, we completed the renovation, I went on a trip, I would get a break”, and what else……..????

We could go on and on…
Everyday, notice the “if only’s” coming out of your mouth or your surrounding’s. You will be surprised. Life seems to be a compilation of incomplete projects, incomplete wishes, desires and doings!

No wonder we feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and unhappy. No wonder we are endlessly questioning, and seldom finding answers and in the end, suffering.

Where is all this coming from?

Our perception of how things SHOULD be may come partly from our upbringing, education and religious beliefs.  Hearing words spoken and unspoken, witnessing behaviors, sensing emotions, experiencing a wide range of events, and creating a vision may have contributed our state of being. All this leaves deep imprints within and from where we made and make decisions about WHO we think we OUGHT to be, so we can be loved and safe and WHO we think we are.

Do you wonder why someone is seeing a beautiful snowstorm, and the other, an awful winter day? “If only winter could end,” some may think. AND YET, no matter what, we cannot push behind winter to move faster!!

Do you wonder why someone feels excited about a possible new job and yet the other feels impatient about the process of looking for a new career?  “If only I got THAT jog, things would be just right finally” one may say, AND YET, no matter what, there is a process in applying for jobs and the selection of the right candidate for a position and will it really fix things?

And why is someone being able to see the qualities of their lover and yet, the other always remarks on the faults…. If only…(and here I shall let you complete the sentence….) AND YET, no matter what, we all have qualities and faults!

How will you choose to see your world? A cup half full, or half empty?

Judgments, rules, perceptions, values, interpretation and ideas about ourselves and others have been built and need to be consciously reviewed and looked at otherwise, not matter how many IF ONLY’s you may have and achieve, there will always be something else that need fixed, improved and changed.

What is it we are looking for?

What if there was JOY, ENDLESS HAPPINESS and FREEDOM?
What if there was DIVINE?

Isn’t this the real question?

Embracing Life and Celebrating in the Moment

You may ask, but how can I do that?

I don’t even know where I am going with my life, I feel lonely, I have too many bills to pay, too much to do, my mind is filled with worries, it is cold and I can’t afford going in the sun like everyone else…. what is there to celebrate? I would rather get to the next moment and I do not see what there is to celebrate.

At first glance, you may be right. It may be easy to get discouraged, depressed, and wondering what the point is and even begin shutting down, not going out, or getting involved in activities. Your may feel you have so many things on your plate, you do not know where and how to begin and you certainly do not feel like celebrating at this moment.

So, how do I get out of this turmoil and learn to juggle this life and yet be happy now, no matter what on the outside?

To know how to stop and fully experience the wonders, peace and joy of this moment is not it seems an easy task and yet I suggest it is fully possible.

For most, when we stop, the mind gets worried and it begins reminding us of all the things going wrong with our life and the many things we must do. Then, we may start feeling guilty since we should be doing something instead of sitting and contemplating.

To know how to stop and protect the sacred and peaceful part of our self is an art and a gift from life that we must get acquainted with.

Start appreciating life in all its simplicity, and begin simply by breathing fully, then filling your eyes up with the beauty surrounding you.

Giving a rest to the busy mind is necessary to feel peace within and fully experience the universe for what it is.

Thank life everyday for what it has given you and then you can proceed with your activities and duties.

Remember, maybe it is us who complicated things beyond what life is asking of us and what is expected of us.

Creating space everyday for noticing life and all that is, and experiencing peace within, is a gift you give yourself.

By doing so, everyday, and even just for a moment, you will notice that the space between you and life itself gets smaller. Actually, you will start feeling supported no matter what. Then, you allow life to embrace you, to carry you, and for joy and celebration to surprise you.

One must learn to stop, notice, and go in.

Take these moments to just be in harmony with this moment. Discipline yourself everyday to contact that sacred space within.

I am So Emotional…

Gulabo 18 for sept 2009“When emotions arise such as sadness or anger, I feel stuck for quite a while. Sometimes I feel out of control and cannot get out of it, no matter what.”

Emotions come and go and one cannot dismiss them nor control their creation. The same way one cannot control the wind from blowing or the clouds moving in the sky. They just are.

When you experience pleasant circumstances, happy feelings usually arise. At these times, you do not question or wonder about it because all is well.

On the other hand, when more challenging events occur or something triggers a difficult memory or yet, someone pushes your buttons, other types of emotions such as anger, intolerance, sadness etc. may arise. These feelings create a total different experience which may become uncomfortable not to say unbearable. You wish for those to vanish, to leave you alone.

So, you may either try to convince yourself there is no reason for that. Or you may find very good justifications for what happened or try to understand why. If you are not successful, you may try to change your mind by starting an activity, turn the television on or use any other devices to ease that discomfort. Still, it does not work and you start even feeling anxious about what goes on.

From my own experience and the sharing of some other people who have tried it, a very effective way to handle these emotions before they cause too much upset, is to ALLOW them, STAY with them and GIVE them the inner space required, LONG ENOUGH, so they can eventually dissolve.

HOW TO DO THAT?

FIRST, by acknowledging to yourself what you are truly feeling (instead of denying, justifying, ignoring or blaming).

SECOND, by localizing in the body where you feel it (neck, shoulders, stomach, etc.)

THIRD, by stepping back from yourself and from these experiences and giving space and permission for this experience to occur (instead of trying to push it away, change it, judging etc.)

This process may be temporarily uncomfortable but so what? So is going to the dentist for some people. And this too shall pass, as a Buddha use to say.

Do not run away from it, do not use your old tricks. Live up to it! Someone said “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”

By doing so, you will magically feel the hold and discomfort being released and dissolved. And what a relief! Just like a tight fist held so tight, you feel the circulation stopping…and then, the fist opens up and you feel life running through your hand.

And you did nothing, except being the witness of this experience.

Try it! It works! Then you may go on and enjoy your day and people around you!
